Home Minister P Chidambaram on Wednesday expressed confidence that solution to the vexed Kashmir issue would be found soon. He said that government was willing to talk to all sections of the society to resolve the issues.
HOME MINISTER P Chidambaram on Wednesday said that government was ready to start the dialogue process with all stakeholders in Jammu and Kashmir and take it to the logical conclusion. Addressing a rally in Kashmir valley, the Home Minister said that he had a completely open mind and would listen to every shade of opinion to resolve the vexed issue.
Chidambaram expressed confidence that the solution to the political problems of Kashmir will be found soon. He also asked the Jammu and Kashmir police to get ready to be the front-line force in the battle against terrorism and lead the paramilitary forces in the state.
His statement assumes significance on account of the fact that Kashmir's separatists have expressed willingness to open dialogue with New Delhi, which had come to a grinding halt in 2006 after they refused to join the round table conference.
Later, the Home Minister, also asked the security establishment to remain at its toes as there was spurt in infiltration from across the border in last two to three months. While speaking to reporters, he said that in the wake of increasing infiltration attempts, there is is need to remain extra careful.
