DURING HIS two day visit to Pakistan, Home Minister, P.Chidambaram will meet his Pakistani counterpart in Islamabad on the sidelines of the SAARC's Interior Minister's meeting.

While on his two day visit to Pakistan, Chidambaram is slated to press for probe against LeT founder Hafiz Saeed and ask for audio samples of the people responsible for the Mumbai attacks. Chidambaram is in Pakistan for SAARC's Interior Minister's meeting.

Since both sides are aware, that the earlier meetings have not resulted in any concrete solutions, they came an inch closer this time during the Foreign Secretary level talks in Pakistan. Chidambaram's dialogue with the Pakistani Minister, Rehman Malik will be centered on terrorism and dissolution of terrorist cells and activities seeping into India from the Pakistani soil.

He will also seek the status of investigation and trial report being conducted in Pakistan in the Mumbai attacks apart from the 10 detailed dossiers handed over to Pakistan as evidence a few months back. The dossiers contained ample information against the plotters and Hafeez Saeed and their respective roles in the Mumbai attacks.

During the meet, Rehman Malik said that both the countries aim to work towards restoration of confidence bilding measures so as to have a comprehensive, sustained and substantial dialogue.
