Childhood Metabolic syndrome can increase the risk of breast cancer
Metabolic syndrome is a cluster of disorders that increases the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases and diabetes. It is also known as Syndrome X, Reaven's syndrome and insulin resistance syndrome.

A COMBINATION of diseases in metabolic syndrome can be high blood sugar level, increased blood pressure, abnormal cholesterol level or excess body fat around the waist. All these disorders can increase the risk of diabetes, heart disease and stroke.

Any one of the above conditions will not be a metabolic syndrome, but if more than one condition occurs in combination, then there is a greater risk of metabolic syndrome. But a simple lifestyle change can prevent this disease.

The are various reasons of metabolic syndrome; one of the reasons can be Insulin resistance and the other factors can be environmental or genetic. Being overweight and inactive can also be a cause of metabolic syndrome. The factors that can trigger the disorder are history of diabetes, obesity and age.

The symptoms of metabolic syndrome are being overweight, increased blood pressure, high cholesterol and increased sugar levels. If you have one symptom of metabolic syndrome then you have increased chances of getting the other symptom. And as the symptoms increase the risk of getting the disorder increases.

According to a new study, metabolic syndrome can increase the risk of breast cancer. "The findings of this study are particularly important when we superimpose them on data showing that girls are experiencing breast development at earlier ages, coincident with a growing epidemic of childhood obesity," said Russ Hovey, senior author on the study, as reported in CNCA health.

Treatment of metabolic syndrome cannot be done by tackling every single symptom of metabolic syndrome. An aggressive lifestyle change or medications can improve the symptoms of metabolic syndrome. The lifestyle changes like quitting smoking, losing weight and doing more physical activity can be helpful. If there is no affect of the lifestyle changes then the doctor will prescribe the medication for metabolic syndrome which will help in controlling the cholesterol levels, lowering the blood pressure, or in loosing the weight. Asprin as a medication for metabolic syndrome is preferred.
