Children with special needs in Jaipur celebrate National Sports Day
The National Sports Day was observed at the IIS University in Jaipur as 'Para-Sports Meet for Special Children' in which the girl students of the university organised various events for differently abled children from various special education schools such as Disha, Umang, Garima, Sweekar, and Milestones. The participating children enjoyed various events organized for them.

The sports meet was jointly supported by the Equal Opportunity Cell Sports Board and NSS in which girls of the venue university and the management gave the whole-hearted assistance.

A hockey match was also played by the children. The fun games of ball throw, ring throw, balloon race, etc. were thoroughly enjoyed by the children.

The event culminated with music and dance in which everyone joined in. The parents, event organizers, teachers and the university girls were seen taking selfies with special children. It was a fun to see everyone enjoying the last part of the event in which spectators mingled with children.

As we know that the National Sports Day in India is celebrated on August 29 every year to mark the birthday of Dhyan Chand, the legendary hockey player who won gold medals for India in three consecutive Olympic Games.

Also, at the international level, the Paralympic sports are also organised and as of 2016, the Summer Paralympics will include 22 sports and 526 medal events. Besides this, the Winter Paralympics will include 5 sports and disciplines and about 72 events this year.

In the Paralympic Games, the athletes with physical disabilities such as mobility disabilities, amputations, blindness, and Cerebral Palsy participate. The main Paralympics events include: archery, athletics, boccia, cycling, equestrain, football 5-a-side, football 7-a-side, and goal-ball. The events also change from time to time.
