Family and society are responsible for a child's upbringing at large. Motivating and educating children right from their childhood days should be given prime importance, which would build the foundation of better tomorrow
DISAPPOINTED SOMETIMES … I slid myself into neverland. Depression happens not only due to money, family or workplace. When I walk down the road and see that nothing is in its place I feel depressed. The footpath and the road have been tampered. Wonder what the health officials, inspectors, law enforcement authorities, etc are doing?
Everyday I ensure that I talk and correct at least five people. Most assure me that they will stop spitting, but I do not keep track of them. And they in due course of time get lost in the wilderness of greater Mumbai.
At a random estimate to my knowledge, one can find that 85 per cent of people do not shave on daily basis. When asked, they say, saab time nahi hai (I do not have time), or the usual reply hafte mein ek bar (once a week only), or they link the shaving excuse to the shubh din, (auspicious day) where shaving would cost them panvati (bad omen). When the conversation builds further, I question them if they own a razor blade and a shaving brush. They simply smile with a reply …paghar aayiga tho lega.(I will buy one after receiving my salary). I explain to them the benefits of maintaining hygiene. Many a times at work place, when some of these lazy men come for interviews, I often find that they do not carry their certificates with them. Without the required certificates, how can one scrutinise their applications. The reply out from their mouth, gaon mein chhodke aaya. (the certificates are lying in my village). And if there are those who have carried it, they produce them after unfolding the four folds of the certificates, because they have safely stacked them out in their back pocket. What I see is the total ignorance and value of the papers. When I explain to them the importance of keeping the certificates properly by easily maintaining a file, to my astonishment, they reply certificate ko istri marenge. ( I will iron the certificates). However, the problem lies with the family and society, which is responsible for the upbringing of a child. Motivating and educating children right from their childhood should be given prime importance. This would definitely build the foundation of a better tomorrow.
