If the reports of the UN are to be believed then by the end of the year 2100, countries such as China, the United States, Japan, India and Brazil would be having more than 1 million people, who are above 100 years of age.
Japan is also far behind as far as centenarians are concerned. Japan has more than 47,000 people who are above 100 years of age. It is interesting to note that most of these centenarians are women. This fact also brings back the debate, which says that women live longer than men for various reasons. Some scientists say that the body cells in women are alive for longer time.
The US is home for around 72,000 centenarians in the world, which is the largest for any country. It has also been said that the figure is likely to increase in the near future.
