China's future president Xi Jinping conspicuous by his absence
Xi Jinpin, vice-preident of China and future preident hasn't been seen in public for over ten days now. He missed meeting with Hillary clinton as well. Why? Is it due to diplomatic indisposition?

XIi JINPING is like the rising Sun and everyone wishes to worhip him for political or economic gains. Jinping is the present Vice-President of China who has been groomed to be the President. The changeover from the present regime of Hu Jintao to the succesor Xi Jinping is scheduled to take place this year in Fall, in a couple of months from now. However, what has raised eyebrows of international Sinologists and press hounds is sudden disappearance of Xi Jinping from public view. It is rather unusual.

What has added to the curiosity is Xi not showing up for a scheduled meeting with US Secretary Of State, Hillary Clinton in Beijing. He also missed a political date with the Prime Minister of Singapore.

There is no official word on the subject yet. The last Xi made a public appearance was on September 1, 2012 when he addressed some students of a political institutions. The non-appearance in public or before the media or absence of an official explanation for missing important appointments with foreign dignitaries has activated peeping toms to find out what is cooking. However, no word from them as yet.

Those who know the working of the top echelons of the Communist Party of China have assured friends of China that the baton of power will be passed on to the new generation as scheduled and there is no cause for worry.

Peng Liyuan, a famous dance performer and wife of Xi Jinping distanced herelf from this. How strange but how true is the fact that more people knew Peng Liyuan than Xi Jinping. When Xi was going to be Vice- President of China, people would ask questions about him to find out who he was. In a joke the answer given was “he is the husband of Peng Liyuan.” No wonder that the administration decided to send him on a world tour, especially to the western countries so that the top leaders know each other well to smoothen the creases in relationships.

Xi Jinping had impressed men and women in America. The Americans formed an image of him as an outward bound man who loved to meet people and strike friendship. Xi joked a lot and narrated anecdote to keep people in good humour.

Taking into account many speculations about Xi’s disappearance from public view for over ten days today, one may venture to correlate the disappearance with the suspected wrong doings of other senior Communist party leaders like Bo Xilai who had to be put under house arrest as his wife had indulged in money laundering. Moreover, she had got her foreign partner killed to keep her criminal and economic offences under wrap. The last straw on camel’s back was the car crash in which a son of a senior aide of President Hu Jintao was killed and his two female companions travelling in the same sports car injured badly.

Xi Jinping and other leader are huddled together to find a solution. The earlier they find, the better it would be.
