Later, Chiranjeevi was elected to the Rajya Sabha with a promise to induct him into the union cabinet. He is expecting to be minister of state with independent charge. However, this has been delayed abnormally resulting impatience among Chiranjeevi’s supporters.
In the present political scenario prevailed in Andhra Pradesh, where both the principle opposition party Telugu Desam’s chief N Chandrababu Naidu and Jagan Mohan Reddy’s sister Sharmila are on Pada Yatra targeting to complete 2,000 to 3,000 KMs and more than 100 Assembly segments, Congress is badly needed a mass leader who can influence people. Chiranjeevi is the only leader for Congress, who has some mass image and can impress them.
Besides Chiranjeevi, senior Congress MPs from Andhra Pradesh Kavuru Sambasiva Rao and Rayapati Sambasiva Rao are also making hectic efforts to join in the cabinet. Both of them serving their fifth term in Lok Sabha and openly expressing their discontent for ignoring their seniority for awarding cabinet berths. Political sources are expecting one of them is most likely to get cabinet berth.
From the Telangana region also senior BC leader V Hanumantha Rao is bringing pressure on the party high command for cabinet berth. He met party president Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday and pleaded his claim.
