Prajarajyam party is not taking the GHMC election seriously but it is contesting to go through the motions and woo voters and sympathizers. The party is in the fray in selected divisions
PRAJARAJYAM PARTY chief Chiranjeevi has revealed his intention of working with the Congress in Andhra Pradesh like the alliance between the Congress, the Trinamool Congress and National Congress Party in West Bengal and Maharashtra respectively. His party had thought of contesting the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) polls and sharing some seats with the Congress but it failed because of some internal politics in that party, he said in a television interview. The same party had shown interest in a merger of Prajarajyam but opposed to ally with it. He wondered what was going on.
In the GHMC elections his party’s main aim is to increase the vote share but not winning a lot of seats. Hence without ego and prestige the party had selected about 64 divisions to contest, Chirajeevi said in the interview. He accepted his party does not have a solid base in the state and the same goes for the GHMC. However to woo voters and sympathizers the party was in the fray in selected divisions. “We are getting the same affection from the public as we got in the Assembly elections” he said. When asked why Pavan Kalyan was not participating in the electioneering Chiranjeevi said he was busy with his film shootings and moreover felt it was not so important because it is a local body election.
