Talking to the AFP, Karen King, professor of Harvard Divinity school said, “In this 4th century fragment there are 8 lines on the front and six lines on the back but the most exciting line however is the sentence Jesus said to them (to his disciples that is) 'my wife'. Its not evidence for us, historically he had a wife. It is quite a clear evidence in fact that some Christians probably in the second half of the second century, which is between 150- 200 AD, thought that Jesus had a wife.”
She also says that in a bid to make head or tail out of the fragment they spend several hours looking at the fragment, discussing it at every possible way. Starting from the notion that it is a forgery trying to convince ourselves, trying to make arguments against that Jesus Christ had a wife but to no avail.
