Church attacks in Delhi : BJP, AAP and Congress have no clear agenda for preventing them after election
Despite recent attacks on multiple Churches across the capital city of Delhi, none of the major political parties namely BJP, Congress and AAP have any clear agenda for the Christian minority community. Strangely, there is not a single candidate from the Christian community contesting the election under the banner of either of the top three political parties.

Why are there a series of attacks on various churches in Delhi? Will you do something to prevent it? Is there something in your agenda that ensures peace for this minority religion in Delhi? Why don't you have a Christian candidate contesting under your party banner? All our questions were dodged by the party members with some not even sure of what the issue is about. Excerpts of the reactions below:

Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Union Minister, BJP

I don't think there is anyone against Christians. But there is some anti-rational and nefarious forces busy to distinct our social fabric and harmony. I think the assigned authority needs to take strong actions against whosoever is involved in this. If in near future BJP come in state government then we will try to sort this problem and take strict action against involved person or a group. The party workers are communicating with common person and trying to clear everything with them. Our party condemns the action of any organization or people who are leading such incidents in society against Christians.

Meem Afzal, Congress Leader

The Congress party agenda is always 'Secularism'. Since, 1947 the Congress party is walking with the same in Indian Politics. Party believe in equality in every section, caste, religion, creed or gender. And one should not intervene the harmony of any religion. During the party's tenure no communal related issues emerged out. No case of vandalization of any religious house came in when Congress was in government. But such communal incidents happens only Congress falls weak. Nothing is more important than peace of the nation. In future if Congress will be in government such incidents will not take place at all.

Akhilesh Pati Tripathi, AAP Candidate

Earlier, Arvind Kejriwal predicted that communal riots will take place in the country for sure. And I think AAP surely having some agenda related to it though I am not sure of it.

Commando Surinder Singh, Former legislator and AAP's Candidate from Delhi Cantt.

There are few parties who are involved in conducting these type of problems. Earlier, it happened during Delhi elections then Delhi faced communal clash between Muslims and Hindus in Trilokpuri and now vandalization of Churches. All these are inter-linked. AAP is the party which believes in secularism and equality. If in future AAP will be in government, we will definitely take serious against people whosoever is involved in this. We will even work to secure Christian's rights in the society as everyone has right to live and enjoy his part of freedom.
