Clash breaks out on Golden Temple premise on 30th anniversary of Operation Bluestar
Clashes broke out in the premises of Golden temple, Amritser on Friday between members of Shiromani Akali Dal and Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC), injuring at least 12 people. According to reports some media persons were also assaulted and the cameras were broken during the clashes.

Violence erupted in Golden temple after various groups protested Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) leader Simranjit Singh Mann's attempt to deliver a speech from the rostrum of Akal Takht. The clashes followed after the altercation, which reportedly happened during the ceremony which was marked to organize the anniversary of operation blue star.

Several people were injured in violent clashes inside the Golden Temple while the Sikh community was observing the 30th anniversary of Operation Bluestar on Friday morning.

This was three decades post operation Blue Star, the holiest shrine of the Sikhs, Golden Temple was again marked by violence. The shops and the markets in Amritsar have been closed subsequent to the clashes during the observance of Operation Blue Star anniversary.
