Clashes of ideologies not good for our educational institution as we have witnessed at Ramjas College
ABVP is the acronym for Akhil Bhartiya Vidhyarthi Parishad, a student wing of political party BJP. The ideology of ABVP is same as that of BJP and RSS. ABVP is at loggerhead with another students' group namely AISA that is student wing of Communist party of India.

It looks that ABVP is trying to rein all the universities of the country in any way. They are trying to force their ideology on rest of the students just like their seniors in political party. They are not ready to understand that India is a diverse country having different ideologies and social structures. The beauty of this country lies in its diversity and not in single ideological root.

According to different media reports in print and electronic media, ABVP disrupted an event in Delhi University organized by college literary society. The bone of contention was invitation sent to JNU student leader Umar Khalid to speak on the topic of war in Adiwasi areas. Umar Khalid is student of JNU who was arrested last year on the charges of sedition for his alleged role in anti-India sloganeering at JNU.

The college was forced to call off the seminar after seeing the eminent threat of law and order situation in college campus created by ABVP. Shehla Rashid another student of JNU was scheduled to speak on Wednesday but seminar was called off due to vandalism.

AISA students protested ABVP and demanded FIR to be lodged against ABVP activists for their alleged role in vandalism. Shehla Rashid tweeted her bruised ankle's photo on social media website twitter and claimed that ABVP members broken her phone after snatching from her hand. She also claimed that police personnel present at the venue were hand in gloves with the activists of ABVP.

On the other hand, ABVP activists asserted they would never allow any anti-national activities in their campus. I don't understand how a seminar can be source of anti- national activities. These activists are against anti-national activities but no such action or protest had been organized by ABVP or any right wing group against Dhruv Saxena and others who had been caught by ATS.

People should remember that few days back Madhya Pradesh ATS arrested Dhruv Saxena and his group for working as ISI spy. Dhruv saxena was an office bearer of BJP's IT cell and BJYM, according to reports published in major newspapers of the country.

According to media report, ABVP group hurled stones and bricks on protesters and sabotaged the protest on Wednesday when DU teachers and students started a protest march. They clashed with protesters and police personnel were not moved by the request of protesters to save them from the hooliganism of ABVP activists as claimed by Shehla Rashid in her social media posts. She also claimed that media personnel were also attacked by right wing activists. She also thanked @Catchnews journalist Aditya Menon who got hit while saving her from activists.

Delhi police joint commissioner Mr. Dependra Pathak on Thursday announced the suspension of three police personnel on the charges of assaulting students and journalists during the clash at Ramjas College on Wednesday. An enquiry also had been ordered to probe the matter.

But major issue which remained unanswered is why these self-proclaimed nationalist want to rein the country without any official position in hand. And official people who should have handled situations are either silent on such issues or supporting the culprits who vandalized the protest. Whatever police actions we are seeing now is because of pressure tactics of students who arranged big protest at police headquarter in Delhi.

There are lot many problems in country which need to be addressed like malnutrition, terrorism, farmer's suicide, child marriage, poverty, illiteracy. Instead of wasting energy on such clashes and counter protests our youth should consider fighting to eradicate different problems of our country which need immediate attention as I mentioned.

We know that all these students' wings are associated with one or other political party. We need to understand these affiliations with political parties are actual cause of problems in student politics. Student wings whose party is in power used to behave as they are themselves in power and hence they used to behave like rulers instead of students.

My humble submission is that we should remove the political affiliation of all these student's wings. Students need to do only students' politics and after completion of their education they will be free to join any political party of their choice.
