“Government at the center has decided to distribute soil health cards to farmers in the entire nation, on the lines of Gujarat that has given such cards to its farmers. But we do not know when they will be able to do so as they are busy in dealing with coal (scam). The coal is blackening the face of the country,” Modi said, according to Network1 media.
He said that Gujarat is fully focused towards the growth of farmers in the state. Modi also claimed that Gujarat is the only state in the country where industrial development is happening along with agricultural development. He said that when the national average of agricultural growth is 2%-3% in the country, Gujarat is experiencing a growth of 10% in this sector.
Modi also said that area under micro irrigation in the state has increased from below 1,000 hectares ten years ago to 7 lakh hectares today.
