RESEARCHERS AT the Medical Research Council, Cambridge revealed that eatable items such as peanuts, red wine, coffee and beer that men usually love to consume have certain chemicals in a high proportion, which may result in male infertility.

The chemicals are highly charged with sperm weakening capabilities, thus lowering the sperm count. Osterogen like chemicals are found in peanuts, red wine, coffee and beer, which brought down the sperm count. If the sperm count is in the range of 80 to 120 million per milliliter, it’s considered normal.

It is found that when drinks are consumed along with nuts, it causes more damages than consumed separately. A lot of items were analysed using sensitive chemical procedures. The levels of oestrogen like chemicals, lignansa, and isoflavones were measured.

The analysis showed that the sperm reducing compounds are found in many food and beverages items. Previously, it showed that lower sperm count was also linked with Soya.
However, the study could not determine the minimum quantity of eatables that could lead to infertility. The results can be found in the issue of the New Scientist Magazine.
