Comic characters will be at home in Brussels with a comic festival being organized from 5th September to 8th September 2013. The paper heroes, who are present on book shops, exhibitions, televisions, art-galleries and even Hollywood will be in Place des Palais.
The highly colourful weekend of Place des Palais, will have 3D projection mapping, the Balloon’s Day Parade, the Tintin magazine, guided visits and comics exhibitions at the festival and throughout the city, particularly at the the Palais des Beaux Arts (BOZAR), CINEMATEK and at the Belgian Comic Strip Centre.
The highlights of the comics festival 2013 will be Marquee area, where the comic strip lovers will be able to visit bookshops, publishers, museums, exhibitions, boutiques and numerous animations. Comic strip themed dinner, the dinner will be in honor of the paper heroes. This colourful dinner will have a 'street food' theme, which will mainly attract the children and families. The dinner will go along with a sound and light show.
Balloon's Day parade is another event which will take place in the comic festival this year. This event will fill the streets of Brussels to the sound of accompanying fanfares. This will be escorted by a Police parade and folklore groups. The festival will start with a giant balloons representing the different Belgian comic strip characters, ending up at Place De Brouckère.
The last but not the least event is the 'Tintin magazine' car rally, this event will be conducted in collaboration with Moulinsart. The rally will involve around forty cars and motorcycles represented in the boards of different comic strips from the Tintin magazine. The rally will start from Place des Palais and will then pass through different mythical comic strip places in Brussels and through the Hergé Museum.
