Coming soon: Reliance JioFiber - 100 GB data @ Rs 500
Reliance Jio is all set to give its competitors sleepless nights with its JioFiber broadband service for homes to be launched around Diwali 2017.

A report in the Economic Times has stated that the company could offer 100 GB data at just Rs 500.

It was earlier reported that the service will be launched in June. In fact, in May, Reliance Jio's official Twitter handle had tweeted that the JioFiber preview offer was being offered on a trial basis in some cities.

"The JioFiber Preview Offer is currently being launched in select areas of Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Ahmedabad, Jamnagar, Surat and Vadodara. Our network is in the process of being rolled out to other cities," Reliance Jio's Twitter handle had tweeted.

The price at which Jio is offering the data is almost half of what is being presently offered by other competitors. The initial free months that people enjoyed before Jio was commercially launched is also expected with the JioFiber service. At present, JioFiber has the capacity to carry data at a speed of 100 Mbps and with growing market, the company is expected to increase the same.

What needs to be seen is how the market as well as the rival companies will react to this new entrant. Some reports have suggested that Airtel has started offering its customers extra data without changing the price. Airtel has been one company that suffered heavy loses with Jio entering the market.

Jio seems to be interested in getting in other home surveillance electrical equipment as well including smart camera, smart lock, smart doorbell, etc. All these equipments will be controlled by a smart Phone.
