Committee to assess academic loss of students in Valley
A high level meeting was today held here under the Chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Samoon to discuss the academic loss suffered by the students due to unrest in the past months in the valley.

The meeting was attended by Director Education, Chairman BOSE, Director Information, all Deputy Commissioners, all Additional Deputy Commissioners, Kashmir Valley, representatives of Private Instituions, Prof. Bishana Dass and Prof. Parrey, representatives of Finance, Higher Education, School Education, , Principal Amar Singh College, Principal Delhi Public School, representatives of Tyndale Biscoe & Mallinson School, Sheikh Bagh Srinagar, Convent School, Srinagar, Burn Hall School, Srinagar, Parents Association of Private Institutions etc.
 
The meeting discussed threadbare measures to be taken in connection with the reconstruction of the damaged educational infrastructure.
 
Meanwhile, private tuitions by government teachers also came up for discussion in the meeting. The representatives of Education department informed the meeting that SRO 123 dated 18/3/2010 has already been issued in this respect.
 
The Divisional Commissioner directed that Task Committees under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioners shall be constituted in all the districts with the Chief Education Officer of the district as member Secretary and representatives from Government Schools, Private Institutions and parents as members which will assess the loss suffered by the student community in the valley during the last four months and measures to be taken to fill the gap caused due to the unrest.
