Hurting the common man by increasing the prices of essential commodities including LPG cooking-gas, diesel, CNG and others through 2010-11 budget of Delhi government in the name of collecting funds for Commonwealth Games is not justified.
HURTING THE common man by increasing the prices of essential commodities including LPG cooking-gas, diesel, CNG and others through 2010-11 budget of Delhi government in the name of collecting funds for Commonwealth Games is not justified. People need relief from rising prices rather than Commonwealth Games.
There are other ways as well to save funds. Big advertisement-budget (also including for Commonwealth games) is mainly for photo-publicity of political rulers. The over-expenditure on advertisements is also done to drain public-money to publications, whose circulation is negligible.
Advertisements with photos of living personalities like political rulers should be totally banned with advertisement-budget of Delhi government drastically cut. Likewise areas should be searched where such unproductive and wasteful expenditures from public-exchequers may be curtailed instead of burdening public for entertainment and self-publicity of political rulers.
