Competent soldiers and inept political class
Enough is enough. How long will it take us to understand that political leaders have got no sense to deal with national security issues, as they have mixed them up with avoidable false promises to escape from the day to day problems?

IT MUST be understood by the government these issues need urgent attention and cannot be shelved like domestic issues. Recently, owing to media and awakening, people have pushed and forced government to work out the concrete solutions of the problems through nation-wide protests.

The big question asked every time is: do we need to force government to wake up and push it to take its responsibilities? Is our political class is so irresponsible that it can’t work on its own? Why do they need to look at the United States for action and foreign policy issues?

It reminds me when few years back Lebanon abducted two soldiers of Israel and the latter launched an air attack coupled with ground raid to bring back those two soldiers. The basic point is that they value life and they also respect the job of the soldiers deployed in the line of duty.

On the contrary, Indian leadership is impotent to take strong action and behaves like a paper tiger; even the Mumbai attack did not give them enough courage to take strong action against Pakistan. The sayings of Ramcharitamanas, “Bhay Bin Hote na Preet (without fear no love)’’, need to be understood in letter and spirit.

This is the right time to retaliate with a bang. Only articulated speech will fall flat as it has been the habit of our political leaders to escape responsibilities. Let us draw a lesson this time to be proactive rather than reactive because the vacuum is always filled by the innocent lives that could have been saved.
