Composite cultural programme held at Bhalessa
To strengthen the composite culture and educational canvas of Bhalessa, IGNOU organised an 'Induction cum Composite Mushaira' here at Bhalessa. A large number of students, youth and community members participated in the programme.
WITH A view to strengthen the composite culture and educational canvas of Bhalessa, IGNOU organised an ‘Induction cum Composite Mushaira’ here at Bhalessa. A large number of students, youth and community members participated in the programme. The main objective of the programme was to make the local people aware of the objective of IGNOU and its societal based programmes viz a viz harnessing of local culture.

A large number of poets belonging to district participated in the programme besides the students of local institutions. The programme was presided over by Kh Din Mohammed, rather prominent teacher and a poet. The proceedings was carried out by Adil Pervaiz.

The cultural programme started with Safder Bhalessi and Shaista Safder besides local poets Din Mohammed Rather, Saleem Khan, Ramzan Parwaz and Farooq Fidayi. The students and youth presented a colourful programme.

Firdous Malik I/c IGNOU study centre Bhalessa, focused on the diversified delivery system adopted by IGNOU head quarters and regional centre Jammu. Referring to vast scope of computer education, he said the revolution of information technology holds a bright future for computer professionals. "Already our country is marching ahead in computers and gradually the computer-trained will assume a greater role", he added.

He thanked IGNOU regional director K K Bhat for recommending the centre for introducing tele-based classes and community radio programme for the students of the area in future.

Din Mohammed Rather, prominent social worker and a poet said that computer education and training is vital for keeping the country abreast of technological advances. The computers are going to play a pivotal role in time to come and so the emphasis has to be on this exciting field.

He praised the IGNOU for taking up the massive programme of education through its unique system, which do not require elaborate and costly infrastructure.

Local citizens assured IGNOU of all cooperation in providing support service to the students who have opted for some computer course in the centre.
