JAY LENO would like to talk to Conan o Brien, the American stand-up comedian and television host confessed in an interview to Oprah Winfrey on Tuesday.

The interview that goes on air Thursday has its short transcript out, in which Leno is reported to have confessed, that “he hasn’t spoken” to Tonight Show host Conan ever since the controversy broke out between the two.

The comedian’s cancelled primetime show has been in huge debate ever since reports surfaced that Conan will be replaced.

Leno said, “I haven’t talked to him through all this.  No.  I haven’t.” because “it didn’t seem appropriate.” On being asked why he felt it was inappropriate for him to sort out the differences with Conan, he said, “Let things cool down and maybe we’ll talk.”

On being asked if any of the things that Conan said about him hurt him, he replied, “they were jokes.  And that’s okay. It’s like being a fighter and say when you got punched in the head, did it hurt?  Well, yeah. But you’re a fighter. That’s what you do.”

The Tonight Show which has raked enough gossip due to the showdown between NBC, Conan O’ Brien and Jay Leno goes off air Feb 9 – two days earlier than expected.
