THE DEPUTY leader of BJP in Lok Sabha, Gopinath Munde has slammed the NCP chief Sharad Pawar for the controversial article published in the party mouthpiece ‘Rashtravadi’ that advised people not to eat sugar due to the price rise. He accused the UPA government of cheating voters by not following the 100 days programme to bring down prices and held both Congress and NCP equally responsible for the inflation. The Government had promised to bring down the inflation in 100 days after taking charge. But they promptly forgot the promises.
Munde was being felicitated in Nanded by the district BJP up on his selection as the deputy leader of BJP in Loksabha and for appointment as PAC chairman. While answering the felicitation, he came down heavily on the Union Agriculture minister Sharad Pawar. “When the common man is living under critical circumstances of price rise, the agriculture minister is busy with cricket related discussions. He is more serious about the IPL matches. That is the reason why he arranged a special meeting with Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackreay in Mumbai to discuss the fate of Australian Cricket players playing in Maharashtra. If Pawar would show the same seriousness to reduce price rise, it would surely comfort the common man in the nation” Munde added.
For the first time after independence the inflation has touched 20 percent rise. When the common man has lost all hopes, the Government is engaged in a blame game over the situation. Munde declared he would storm the parliament house on the issue. Ridiculing minister of state for home, Ramesh Bagwe, who was seen carrying Gandhi's shoes, apparently for safe-keeping, during the Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi’s Mumbai visit, Munde said the Congress minister has insulted Maharashtra culture by this act. Munde also demanded Tribal development minister Babanrao Pachpute’s resignation for his announcement to conduct DNA tests on the tribals. He criticized Chief Minister Ashok Chavan for his alleged failure to stop the Naxalite movement in Nanded and the state.
