Congress, BJP joined hands to pass Lokpal bill only to defuse Kejriwal bomb
Lokpal Bill is making headlines. It is believed that the Congress and BJP, joined hands to get the bill passed hurriedly to divert attention from Arvind Kejriwal whose stature has gone up multi fold after elections of Delhi Assembly. The movement for strong Lokpal was launched two years ago. It has given some strange given results in the present with former IPS officer turned social activist Kiran Bedi and Anna Hazare criticising Kejriwal for opposing the bill.

At last the country has got Lokpal although not so strong as was earlier demanded by team Anna when it had launched movement in  Delhi. Several players who were closely associated with the agitation have deferring opinion on the bill with Anna Hazare and Kiran Bedi hailing it as a big achievement in our democracy for cleansing the system. Arvind Kejriwal and his Aaam Aadmi Party which has created history in Delhi Assembly polls is crying foul describing it as Jokepal which may even not trap a mouse.

According to political annalysts, the Congress party's defeat in elections of the four state assemblies coupled with landslide victory of Aam Adami Party led by Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi has forced the Congress as well as the main opposition party BJP to clear way for Lokpal to defuse the Kejriwal bomb.

The Congress according to party sources will use it as its trump card in the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls claiming that it was sincere about bringing the anti-corruption watchdog. Now it will project Rahul Gandhi as champion of anti-corruption cause. Kejriwal's growing stature and his open outbursts against Narendra Modi, the prime ministerial candidate of BJP has forced the party to join the Congress to get the Lokpal bill passed hurriedly with certain amendments to divert attention from Kejriwal.

It is believed that Congress got panicky over the fast unto death by Anna Hazare and a deal was struck through common friends which cleared the way for passing the Lokpal at a jet's speed. Feeling jealous of Kejriwal's stature  which has grown multi fold after elections of Delhi Assembly,  where he blocked the  prospects of BJP, Anna hurriedly went on fast unto death. Kiran Bedi who tried to mediate to form the Govt. with the help of BJP was not given any response by Kejriwal which many feels angered her.

Bedi has stated that even if God comes from heaven and passes strong Lokpal, Kejriwal and his company will reject it because it will steal their election issue. Kumar Vishwas, whom AAP is planning to field against Rahul Gandhi from Amethi Lok Sabha constituency in ensuing polls has claimed that it was a weak Lokpal which may even not trap a mouse

Former Army Chief V.K. Singh is also lambasting Kejriwal. It is believed that both Kiran Bedi and V.K. Singh are pursuing  the agenda of BJP to discredit Arvind Kejriwal whom BJP considers a big threat in its ambition of coming to power at centre.

Anna Hazare has congratulated both the Congress and BJP for passing the Lokpal Bill which has sent shock waves in Samajwadi Party to the extent that its chief Mulayam Singh Yadav commented in Lok Sabha that with passing of the bill, even a Police Daroga can question and interrogate the Prime Minister.

The Congress party is happy that Anna Hazare has congratulated Rahul Gandhi. While CPI (M) wanted inclusion of private sector under the jurisdiction of  lokpal and the Congress party gave credit to Rahul Gandhi as what its spokesman P.C. Chako said that it was due to single-minded determination of Rahul Gandhi and his sincere efforts which resulted in prevailing upon other parties also .

Haryana's Chief Minsiter Bhupinder Singh Hooda has welcomed the passing of Lokpal bill which he said would check corruption. Opposition party in Haryana, Indian National Lok Dal whose leader Dushyant Choutala, grandson of Omparkash Chootala had gone to Ralegan Sidhi to personally hand over letter of their party's support to Anna Hazare.

Ironically it was Om Parkash Choutala, who during his tenure as Chief Minister had abolished the post of Lokpal created by his predecessor Bansilal, which was as powerful as of Karnatka's Lokayukta who has powers to take suo motto cognizance of complaints.

Lokpal's recommendations were binding on Govt. and it need not prior permission from anybody for starting enquiry against ministers and Chief Minister. Choutala brought a dummy Lokayukta which was obediently followed by Bhupinder Singh Hooda, who had opposed it when Choutala had enacted it.
