Congress eager to ally with Chiranjeevi
The Andhra Pradesh Congress Party now wants political friends unlike past. With the death of YS Rajasekhra Reddy, some senior leaders want Chiranjeevi as their ally in municipal elections. The followers of YSR and his son Jaganmohan are against this.
IT IS almost certain that the Congress Party will fight the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections with Prajarajyam Party as its ally.

The sudden development in the Congress Party wants to go to the elections with a popular leader like Chiranjeevi, is nothing but a fear as the party senior leaders feel that it is impossible at this juncture to win without YS Rajasekhra Reddy.

It is evident that to bring down the popularity of Jaganmohan Reddy, son of late YS Rajasekhra Reddy in the party, the senior leaders like Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president D Srinivas and Chief Mminister Rosaiah, both organised this plan along with ex-PCC chief K Kesava Rao and some of the followers of them in the cabinet of Rosaiah.

The followers of YSR and his son Jaganmohan are against this proposal but the PCC president is very much eager to tie up with PRP.

The Chief Minister Rosaiah is now in the grip of PCC president Srinivas and other senior leaders of Delhi based Andhra leaders and he has no scope to turn down the proposal of allying PRP in the elections.

First and foremost thing is no one except Jaganmohan is charismatic and the so-called senior leaders are very hesitant to call him for canvassing and they also unable to digest if Congress wins the election without any ally.

There is also some conspiracy behind this strategic proposal by senior leaders to bring down Rosaiah from chief ministership after some time replacing by one of them mostly PCC chief Srinivas.

So far no Kapu leader has attained the post of chief minister in Andhra Pradesh and after the death of YSR most of the senior Kapu leaders have objected Jaganmohan Reddy and ran the lobby against him. Now, they are indirectly bringing Chiranjeevi into the picture in the name of municipal elections. As Chiranjeevi is also Kapu by caste, is now very enthusiastic to be friendly with Congress to consolidate his career. After the elections all the Kapu leaders of Andhra Pradesh may bring pressure on Sonia Gandhi to make a Kapu man as chief minister. This is hidden agenda of some congressmen.

The Telegu Desam Party is severely criticising this unholy alliance and asked them to merge with Congress. What PRP was saying to prevent TDP is that they only want to alliance with Congress. Moreover, it is telling that the alliance is best for the welfare of state.
