Congress leaders should shed sycophantic attitude of 'Will do anything for Rahul Gandhi'
After Prime Minister Narendra Modi's conciliatory speech in Lok Sabha on 27th November and subsequent discussion with former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi at PM's residence, there were hopes that Parliament will function smoothly during the winter session and the most important GST Bill (Constitution amendment) will see the light of the day.
Even when Rahul Gandhi made a scathing attack on Modi government during the Parliament debate on intolerance, it was thought that Gandhi scion expressed his aggression in a usual manner and it was not going to have any impact on the functioning of the Parliament.

But the Rajya Sabha had to be adjourned due to Kumari Selja controversy as the Congress and BSP stalled the proceedings demanding resignation of V.K. Singh for his dog analogy. Now it's quite clear from the statement of some Congress leaders that unless V.K. Singh resigns they will not allow Rajya Sabha to function.

Thus another wash out looms large and may be the biggest causality will be GST. It again proves that neither Sonia Gandhi nor Dr. Manmohan Singh has any authority in the Congress. The Congress members perhaps are in a sycophantic mood of 'Rahul Gandhi ke liye kuchh bhi karenge' (Will do anything for Rahul Gandhi). This might also be a signal to Prime Minister Modi, that he committed a mistake by not inviting Rahul Gandhi to his 'Chai Pe Charcha' on 27th November. On the other hand the message is that it's only Rahul Gandhi who is the supreme authority in the Congress now.

Some experts also doubt a conspiracy behind not allowing GST bill till 2017. The logic behind it is that although implementation of GST is very beneficial to the country's economy in the long run, but it has adverse effects in shorter run that is for 2-3 years. The price rise and inflation increases suddenly, which will come down only after 2-3 years of implementation. No government in the World that implemented GST was able to retain power in next election. Working on this logic, the Congress might be working on a line that if GST gets implemented in 2017, then Modi government would be unpopular during 2019 General Elections due to price rise and high inflation. Thus the Congress can improve its tally in that election. If somehow they come to power in 2019, then they will get the benefits of GST from 2020 onwards.

Point is, if this is the plan of Congress, whether BJP will remain silent? It may also differ the GST Bill to 2020 because no party wants to lose an election. Thus this is a dangerous situation where due to petty politics nation's economy has to suffer.

What the Congress must understand that nowadays people are not easy to be fooled? The media is so strong that it will expose all conspiracy's however meticulously planned. On the other hand the Congress also must realise that its recent success in Bihar election or Gujarat local body election is not the indicator of public's love for it. In Bihar it was benefited because of the grand alliance and in Gujarat it got benefit because Patels are angry against BJP on reservation issue.

In 2019, grand alliance would be at receiving end in Bihar during general elections and Patel's opposition to BJP in Gujarat is a temporary matter. In any way Patels are dead against Congress because they think Sardar Patel was deprived of the glory to be the first Prime Minister of India.

And then, BJP will also change its tactic. It can isolate the Congress making deals with SP, TMC, BJD, TRS, AIADMK etc. If all these parties came on board, the Congress can't stall the proceedings as BJP can press Chairman of Rajya Sabha to ensure its function through disciplinary methods.

Point is simple; the Congress should leave its sycophantic behaviour in following its prince Rahul Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi too due to his immaturity, gross intolerance towards Modi and unnecessary aggression is gradually getting reduced to the motor mouth club of Asaduddin Owaisi, Sakshi Maharaj, Azam Khan etc. which is very damaging to his potentials.

Sonia Gandhi must curb the temptation of her party members to follow blindly the philosophy of 'Rahul Ke Liye Kuchh Bhi Karenge' else the Congress might be suffering very badly in times to come.
