The political utterances of Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh are often in contrast to the position taken by his party as well as the government. Singh often makes statements that are parochial and pander to certain sections of society.
HAS CONGRESS chief Sonia Gandhi retained Digvijay Singh as party’s General Secretary only to be in news. For he is always being over-spoken and notorious for his untimely comments that often forces the party to dissociate from his comments termed as ‘personal views’? He is the only politician, who is somehow finding ways to make statements opposing the killing of Osama-Bin-Laden by US . He also reacted adversely on US act of performing the last rites of world’s most dreaded militant.
Earlier also, his comments had aided Pakistan against India’s continuous efforts to nail Pakistan on infamous 26/11 attack on Mumbai. All his untimely and unnecessary comments are not only against party’s interest but are also usually against national interest. In the interest of nation and the party, not only should he be asked to vacate the party post but disciplinary action should be taken against him. This is high time that Congress high command takes note of Digvijay Singh's utterances and asks him to fall in line with the policies of the the party as well as the UPA government, which has termed the killing as a positive step in the war against terror.
The stand taken by Singh clearly points to the fact that he is pandering to a particular section of society, but this goes against the political values and policies upheld by his party.
