Congress propaganda of vendetta fully exposed says Sukhbir Singh Badal
The Congress propaganda on political vendetta stands fully exposed as during last six years they have failed to produce a single case, said Sukhbir Singh Badal, Deputy Chief Minister, Punjab.

Speaking to media persons after inaugurating slew of projects worth Rs. 152 crores in Fazilka district, Mr. Badal said that Captain Amarinder Singh during the last five years kept on ranting about 50,000 vendetta cases against Congress workers but failed to pin-point a single case in the assembly. Taking a leaf out of the Captain’s diary, the newly installed PPCC President was repeating the same slogan to get a few sound bytes. When asked about ‘Toll Free’ number launched by the Congress to register such complaints, Mr. Badal said that if the whole machinery of Congress Party could not collect a single case, the toll-free number confirms the fact that either the worker set up of Congress at the grass root level was fully dysfunctional or the Congress Party was not in touch with them, forcing the party to rely on ‘Toll Free’ number to talk to their workers.


Mr. Badal said that the fact is that Congress leaders were totally disheartened as they know the reality that in which ever state Congress Party has lost two term consecutively whether it was in Bihar, West Bengal, Orissa and Uttar Pradesh, it has not returned to power. He said that Congress leaders were enacting new dramas everyday to charge up their workers. “Mr. Bajwa may dye his beard but it can not reverse the clock of Congress Party ticking every minute towards extinction point,” he quipped.

When asked about increasing hostility of Congress leaders towards incumbent party, the Deputy Chief Minister said that every Congress leader was engaged in the exercise of competitive shrillness to show his presence to 10 Janpath, controlling all stings of the party as they have already made the post of PPCC President redundant.

While laying the foundation stone of Punjab Institute of Technology, a Rs. 40 crore project of Punjab Technical University, the Deputy Chief Minister informed that this institute would start integrated courses in automobile, highways and aeronautic engineering besides in emerging sectors of hospitality and food processing industry to enable the students to get good jobs throughout the globe. He said that this was the 4th such institute being set up as three such institutes had been already start imparting quality technical as well as management education in Mansa, Rajpura and Kapurthala and the target was to establish 20 such institutes throughout the state so that our students could get quality education immediately after passing out their matriculation.

He said that in the first phase around 1000 students would get admission here and after completion of second phase the student strength would rise to 2000. He said that the unique feature of this institute was that student belonging to village Arniwala who have provided this land would get 5% reservation of seats besides they have to pay half the fee for their respective courses.

The minister also announced to make Arniwala as Block as per the demand of the area besides Nagar Panchayat status after completion of required procedure. He also announced a Water Works besides rehabilitation of New Shere Wala minor and 4 laning of the road in the limits of the village.

He said that the state government was committed for the welfare of common masses with special focus on poor and needy people. He said that the SAD-BJP government has made a provision for free medicine in government hospitals for poor people besides a unique health insurance for all Atta-Dal scheme beneficiaries people to get free treatment even in private hospitals to the tune of Rs.30,000.

Besides this another scheme was being launched for every citizen of the state by which one can after paying a token money of Rs. 1000 can get free treatment up to Rs. 1.5 lakh in all major private hospitals in the state. Similarly, a Rs. 30,000 per year scholarship would also be provided to every poor but intelligent students scoring 80% or above marks in matriculation for his secondary education i.e., plus one and plus two.

Reiterating his commitment to provide basic civic infrastructure in villages at par with urban areas, the Deputy Chief Minister said that all the 131 villages of Jalalabad constituency would have concrete roads in coming three years and 40 villages were being taken up this year. He said that in the next phase, he would focus on rehabilitation of water channels as now the focus was on rehabilitation of distributaries (Rajbahas) and road connectivity to Dhanis.

Describing the launching of Rs.152 crore projects during his two-day visit of Fazilka district as a humble tribute to the people who have reposed their full faith in the leadership of SAD-BJP combine, the Deputy Chief Minister said that with in next 2-3 years it would be the best district in state with world class infrastructure with special focus on health, education and sports facilities.

It may be mentioned here that the Deputy Chief Minister on the concluding day of his two-day visit of Fazilka district to launch various development purposes, today dedicated the projects worth more than Rs.98 crore to the people of the district. The Deputy Chief Minister laid the foundation stones of two major irrigation projects in the form of rehabilitation of Arniwala distributary system and Bhagsar minor system with a joint cost of Rs. 59 crore.

The Deputy Chief Minister also inaugurated a 66 KVA Grid station at village Ghattianwali Jattan (Rs.5.5 crore) and a Water Works at village Mullianwali (Rs. 97 lakh). Later on, he also laid the foundation stones of construction of Mandi at village Bannawala and 3 road projects namely Malout road to Arniwala to Bannawala to Pakkan to Nandgarh (Rs.5.46 crore), Fazilka-Malout road to Mahuana to Noor Pur (Rs.1.87 crore) and Fazilka-Malout road- Islam Wala canal to Ghattianwali Jattan to Aliana to Nukerian to Mandi Rorawali (Rs.6.09 crore). The Deputy Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone of Rs.6.8 crore multi-purpose stadium at Fazilka to create world class sports infrastructure in this border district. Meanwhile, Mr. Prem Kumar Valecha today took over as Chairman District Planning Committee in the presence of the Deputy Chief Minister who assured him that there would be no dearth of funds for development purpose.
