The media cell of the Congress Party is at a loss to find spokespersons who are mature. Their though and expression should be sober and mature. They should not look like babes lost in the jungle.

THE WAY Abhishek Manu Singhwi walked out of the TV debate of TIMES TODAY has shown that both he and his party, Congress, are QUITTERS. A brave man should face the situation, tackle it by presenting his viewpoint and thereby convincing the audience. An Advocate of the Supreme Court found himself at a loss for appropriate words and chose to walk out, just to save his face.

Congress is leaderless

Dr Manu Singhwi has inherited the problem from his party that is rudderless at the moment. Dr Manmohan Singh said that he is missing Sonia Gandhi at this point of time. That statement of his is far from Truth. Now SINGH IS KING that he never was; not even when he addressed the DESHWASIS from the ramparts of the Red Fort.And yet he misses the Foreign Hand. Just do not mention these two words to Rashid Alwi otherwise he might feel elated on being quoted. Little did he realise in expressing these two words as a Spokesman of AO Hume's party that he was referring to the foreign  hands that may be misinterpreted as a criticism of the party president. Never mind that. Let us find other babes in the wilderness.

Manish Tewari is his name. A young parliamentarian from the land of five rivers, he won name( read Notoriety) and fame( read angry man's image) because of his acid tongue. One presumes that in his boyhood days he had to use the abusive idioms and phrases to ward off predators and it became his habit. Habit is second nature, so say some specialists in behavioural science. Someone grew in years but not in age. Just do not mention"Maturity", please.

Miss this not

What walks away with the cake is when he poured his heart and soul in calling Anna Hazare names. As the Congress spokesman he dared Anna to call the Congressman corrupt.

His acid tongue came in play and one wishes he had not addressed the venerable septuagenarian as "tum kis muh se kahte ho ki Congress ke log bhrasht hain; tum to khud BHRASHTACHAR mein sar se pair tak lipt ho". Poor spokesman had exceeded his brief both in letter and spirit and did not know how to retract. It is a proven fact that there are no charges of corruption against Anna Hazare.

Lies and Lies

One wonders why the spokespersons of the party founded in 1885,do not do home work. Manish Tiwari slipped again when he attacked Anna as a Deserter from the Army. The Indian Army issued a press statement contradicting Manish and asserting that Anna Hazare had obtained an honorable discharge on completion of required number of years service. The Army buttressed it by mentioning all Service medals that were awarded to Anna Hazare.

Never mind old boy, it happens in life. Tomorrow will be another day when our erring spokesmen of the Congress may make amends by tendering apologies to those citizens whom they have offended.
