Congress stoking up the land grab issue: Mayawati tells farmers, media
During her dialogue with the agitated farmers of the Bhatta Parsaul area of Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati slammed the Congress for fueling the issue, and said farmers will be offered suitable compensation for their land.
FOLLOWING THE agitation led by the farmers in the Bhatta Parsaul area of Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister and BSP supremo Mayawati had a dialogue with the farmers during a ‘kisan panchayat’ held today. During the meeting, she assured that the distressed farmers will get suitable compensation for their land and also announced the inclusion of a new land acquisition policy, which will come into effect from today onwards.

Mayawati further stated that the farmers will be given 16 per cent of the developed land and assured that the land acquisition policy will not be implemented in the troubled Bhatta Parsaul region. She laid special emphasis on the fact that the private builders will be acquiring land directly and the government will act only as a coordinator.

Talking to reporters from the venue on the sidelines of solving the current spat, Mayawati mentioned that her party will raise the issue in Parliament for bringing uniform land acquisition policy.

Mayawati also slammed the Congress government for stoking up the entire issue and stated that the Congress was only responsible for the demonstrations by the peasantry.

It may be recalled that on May 30 a similar case had surfaced in the Gulistanpur area of Greater Noida and the Allahabad High Court had ruled out the 170 hectare land acquisition.

With the Assembly Elections due in Uttar Pradesh in 2012, the current government in Uttar Pradesh will be seen playing very safe moves.

The same event took place in Singur & Nandigram in West Benga ,Congress sat in remote forwarded its dummy-Trinamull Congress. The land is under concurrent list and the central govt. should frame up the rules for acquisition of land and the States will follow the same.A exorbitant amount was offered to the farmers and 90% accepted ,but in Bengal small was more stronger than Big example 9Tmc MP was>32LF Mp and 30> 230 as per Media hype. Madam Mayabati, be careful in next UP assembly election you may face defeat in the black to white magic as happened in West Bengal despite Hazare-ramdeb war against Congressie corruption.
