Congress trying to disturb the atmosphere of communal harmony in Punjab: Prakash Singh Badal
Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal has said that in dearth of any tangible issue against the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD)-BJP government, the state Congress leadership was trying to disturb the communal harmony in the state by vitiating the political atmosphere through their baseless statements.

Prakash Singh Badal, on Friday laid the foundation stones of two major projects in Ferozepur – Shaheed Bhagat Singh Rajguru Sukhdev Government College at village Mohkam Khan Wala on Ferozepur Zira Road and a anstroturf Hockey Stadium adjoining the existing sports stadium in Ferozepur – to be constructed at a cost of Rs.18 crore and Rs.10 crore respectively.

Starting of the government college was a long pending demand of Ferozepur's people since independence as the students from poor families could not continue their higher studies after schooling in view of heavy fee structure of private colleges. The other demand was of Astroturf Hockey Stadium for practice to compete in the Olympics.

Interacting with the media persons after laying the foundation stones of both the projects the Chief Minister said that the Congress party has always adopted the policy of ‘Divide and Rule’ to fulfill its vested political interests. He said that Captain Amrinder Singh had never raised any issue during his tenure as the Chief Minister of the state.

However, Badal said that now when the former Chief Minister had been shown the door by his party due to his illogical statements and politics of vendetta, Captain was misleading the people by issuing baseless statements.

Terming the rise of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as short term phenomena, the Chief Minister said that it would hardly have any impact on the state polity.
