Construction company employees held for helping Maoists
In what could turn out to be a nexus between Maoists and civilians, police in the Malkangiri district have arrested more than half-a-dozen employees of a construction company allegedly for supplying explosive material to Maoists.
SEVEN EMPLOYEES, including the manager of a construction company, located in Balimela area of Malkangiri district, were taken into police custody Saturday (yesterday) allegedly for supplying explosives to Maoists.
The seized items included gelatin sticks, liquid and semi-liquid explosive chemicals, nitrates, wires, Maoist literature, mobile phones, watches and batteries. According to an investigation, police officials concluded that the construction company kept these materials for the Maoists.
In another incident, a bodyguard of a top Maoist leader Nikhil was arrested in Kondhamal district. Nikhil has become very active in Kondhamal district after the expulsion of Sabya Sachi Panda from the organisation. The bodyguard was identified as Jihuda Patamajhi, resident of Singerpenga village of Kotagarh area of Kondhamal district.
