Councillors left in the dark as Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon passes budget
Councillors from Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon have criticized MCG for passing a budget of Rs 960 crore yesterday at MCG's office. The budget has been passed without even informing their councilors, which has disappointed them. History suggests that MCG councilors have been ignored by the MCG while passing the budget.

One such councillor from Ward no.10, Mangat Ram Bagri expressed his dissatisfaction over the entire episode and said, ''We were not even shown the budget and it had to be passed much earlier. We are even not aware as to what kind of planning has been made in it? Such passing of the budget requires the involvement of all the members in the meeting. But, nothing of such happened, prior to the passing of the budget.''

MCG has passed the budget stating that they are going to look after the public welfare with the alloted money. They have few agendas lined up as well, which includes regulation of 50 colonies, deployment of extra police force, building railway bridge over railway crossing, improving the public transport system as well.

Bagri further said, ''I had raised the issue of building a railway bridge over railway crossing many times in the past but to no avail. For the first time MCG has placed this problem in their agenda. Let us wait and watch for what happens this time.''

But such kind of agendas have always been chalked out by MCG. How many of such agendas have been fulfilled?

Nisha Singh, Councillor of MCG, Ward no. 30, said, "We don't have any detail about this budget.  This is not the first time that the budget has been passed without showing us. This is repeated every year. Some of our important demands are still overlooked by MCG. We have been demanding basic facilities such as stationery items and also more clerks for better coordination for the last three and half years, but the department still turns a blind eye towards such things.''

What guarantee can MCG provide to the citizens of Gurgaon for a better city, when MCG lack coordination in their functioning?
