What is touted as the 'kangaroo justice', the particular incident also saw a huge participation from women, who escorted the couple through all the three villages. An eyewitness said that the mob asked the man to beat a drum while he was being paraded.
It was later learnt that the local police had refused to write an FIR in spite of the male victim himself approaching the Dhamnod Police Station. According to media reports SHO Mukesh Izardar said, “We have not received any complaint. A couple did come to us but villagers who came after them advised us that police should not interfere as it was an internal matter of the village.”
After the refusal by the police the male victim was again beaten up by the mob for his move to approach the police.
