The insensitive comment by Pal triggered an uproar and sparked condemnation by the opposition parties, women panel and are demanding Trinamool MP's arrest for rape remark.
CPM's spokesperson Mohammad Saleem while reacting on Pal's comments said that TMC was using rape as an instrument for political endeavour.
"This is what TMC is doing from last three years in Bengal, this is an official recognition of what their activities are. This is the act of threatening the opposition and establishing a rage of terror in entire Bengal. TMC is using rape as an instrument for political endeavour. The police is also not taking any action against them and is not booking the culprits. It is an entire lawlessness by the TMC government," said Saleem.
Kavita Krishnan, Secretary, All India Progressive Women's Association (AIPWA) strongly condemned the TMC MP Pal's comments and demanded his immediate arrest.
"We asked for his arrest and he should be arrested because it is not just a verbal remark by him, but it is in the backdrop of other actual instances of rape of the women supporters of the left party in West Bengal by Trinamool goons," said Krishnan.
She also added that the state government should immediately order pal's arrest.
"This is not an empty threat, it should be treated seriously and TMC cannot just ask for explanation, but they actually have to ensure that he is arrested. Otherwise women in rural Bengal who are supporting left party are in actual danger of rape and violence," Krishnan added.
Strongly criticizing the rape and murder remarks made by MP Tapas Pal, former IPS officer and social activist Kiran Bedi asked West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to take action against the tainted leader.
