Create a secure society for girls, not restrict us
We live in such a society, where men are treated superior to women. Since the day she was born, she has had to face the wicked side of this patriarchal society. We are much worried about the safety of a girl and this insecure feeling among the parents is hiding the super talents in girls. People in Indian society celebrate when a baby boy is born. In India girl is a kind of burden.

There were days in our Indian society when girls were restricted from education. But now they are allowed. But if it is a girl, few parents prefer local language medium schools and if it is a boy, he will be sent to English medium school. Years have passed. But even today such kind of discrimination exists, because people feel boy is the one who takes care of them in the future.

Girl, some or the other day she has to get married off. When she comes to college people advise, better prefer girls college in order to avoid  problems from guys. When she finishes her graduation, relatives torture, ask her parents, "when is she going to marry?"

Many dreams lie inside her mind. In our society girl's marriage is given higher priority than her education. She has to forcibly accept the norms of this society and go with her life. When it comes to her profession, people advise you better prefer teaching, banking or nursing etc. Even to the professions, there are limitations to a girl. The most annoying word to her years is "You are a girl".

In one of my friends, there is a girl who is  super talented and who is capable of holding higher positions now is leading a domestic life serving her husband and her kids. All this is because she is a girl. She has been stopped from pursuing higher studies because she is a girl. Her marriage was given much priority than her education. I know many of my middle-class friends are mourning inside themselves because of this wicked male dominated society. People say there is a change now. But change can be seen only in few sections of the society. It's not a mistake on their part to be born as a girl.

Then why is this society restricting them? We teach our girls all the times, Oh! You are a girl, you are not supposed to do that, you are not supposed to do this. Can you all imagine how it feels when she always pinched by others saying "you are a girl".

I know the reason why they say is that they are worried about a girl's safety. Instead of restricting girls, why don't they create a secure society? If restricting us is the only solution that people suggest, it only shows the acceptance of this male dominated society in which many girls have to live dying.

If restricting a girl is the only solution, then it only shows the inability of our society to teach men and to control men. I wish there comes a day when girls should be treated equally with boys without any sort of discrimination. I dream of a day when no girl should suffer for the reason 'she is a girl'. Instead of restricting girls, start teaching boys. Create a secure society for us. Restricting girls is not the solution but what is needed in our society is to control men. There should come a change in mindsets of men.

Whom should we blame for all this? The way men are bought up in this society or should we blame ourselves for being born as girls? We are all humans first. No human should suffer either it's a boy or it is a girl. But do you all men know that we girls are suffering just because we are girls.
