Create symbiotic relationship between academia and the industry: Vice President Naidu
Speaking at the inaugural sessions of a two-day conference on "Industry Academy Interaction for Improvement of Quality of Academics" (June 3-4) organized by the Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy (IIPE) in Vishakhapatnam, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu called for establishing a symbiotic relationship between academia and the industry to create an ecosystem for innovation to thrive and generate employment for the youth, informs an official release.

He urged the industry to play a more pro-active role and establish a strong organic link with the academic institutions through long-term collaborations and promoting the culture of research in a big way.

He also advised the corporate entities to identify specific areas of interest and fund doctoral and post-doctoral research connected to their areas of work and involve themselves in the activities like on-the-job training.

He stressed the  need  of making farmers 'agripreneurs', giving a strong push to 'Zero Budget Natural Farming' techniques as part of measures to increase farmers' incomes, complete codification of labor laws, revamping minerals exploration and licensing policy, enhancing the competitiveness of Indian business as also ensuring the citizens' ease of living are among other important recommendations, stated the release.

He expressed his desire to see India 'Vishwaguru' once again by becoming the global hub for knowledge and innovation. The full text of VP Naid's address has also been released.
