The supporters of YSR Reddy are pushing his son Jagan Mohan Reddy for the CM post. A campaign for making late YSR's son YS Jagan Mohan Reddy the new chief minister amidst a hunt for the successor was initiated by the YSR loyalists.
AFTER LOSING Chief Minister Y S Rajashekara Reddy, Andhra Pradesh is now facing a leadership crisis. At present Finance Minister K Rosaiah, the senior most Cabinet minister of the YSR government, has been sworn in as the caretaker CM of Andhra Pradesh.
All India Congress Committee (AICC) observer and Union Law minister M Veerappa Moily said it was only an 'interim arrangement' for fulfilling constitutional obligations. The arrangement, he said, would continue till the Congress Legislature Party meets to elect the new leader.Since, this is only a constitutional formality to fill up the post for the time being there is a strong clamour that YSR's son Jagan Mohan should be annointed on the top post. The Congress leaders in unison believe that YSR was a perfect man and that there is the need for a perfect replacement, who happens to be his son.
A campaign for making late YSR's son as the new chief minister has already been launched by the loyalists, who prefer the status quo and do not want changes in the establishment.
Saying that YSR's successor should be 'a person who thinks on the lines of YSR and cares for the poor', about ten ministers openly campaigned for Jagan Mohan Reddy.
