Cruise ship Louis Majesty met an accident from freak wave, 2 killed
Giant waves have crashed into a Greek-Cypriot cruise ship which was carrying almost 2,000 passengers in the Mediterranean sea leaving two people dead and six other injured.

GIANT WAVES have crashed into a Greek-Cypriot cruise ship which was carrying almost 2,000 passengers in the Mediterranean sea leaving two people dead and six other injured. The Cypriot-owned Louis Majesty was hit by the 26-foot wave which smashed windshields.


The accident in the cruise ship happened during the ship was sailing from Barcelona to Genoa in Italy near the French port of Marseilles. According to the report the victims have been identified only as a German and an Italian man. After the accident the captain of the cruise ship Louis Majesty taken the ship to the Barcelona, where it arrived late Wednesday to evacuate the dead and injured.

Louis Cruise Lines spokesman Michael Maratheftis said that the ship was hit by three 'abnormally high' waves that broke glass windshields in the forward section. The cruise ship Louis Majesty has 732 cabins and is 200-metre-long, 41,000-tonne heavy.
