A two day International Seminar funded by Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) was organised in Kalindi College, DU. The main theme of the Seminar was "Glocalization and Federal Governance in India: Understanding the Emerging Issues."

In the inaugural session, Dr. Anula Maurya, Principal, Kalindi College asserted that the process of globalisation is incomplete without encompassing the locals and hence the dictum of this convocation is to move from "Globalisation to Glocalisation".

With reference to the concept of centripetal and centrifugal forces functioning around the world, he explained as the uniting and diversifying tendencies of the nations and how the contradicting aspirations of global village and the ideas of decentralisation come together to form Glocalisation.

Guest of Honour, Prof. Beryl A. Radin, Georgetown University, Washington D.C, shared how India's transition from colonization to independence and its development inspired her to research on Indian Governance strategies.

She being a scholar of American Federalism directed her analysis on Indian Constitution and the social scenario of the nation, hence realised how the concept of federalism and glocalisaton is the need of the hour.

Prof. Virendra K. Malhota, Member Secretary, ICSSR, congratulated Kalindi College on completing 50 glorious years of establishment and wished luck for further endeavours.
