Customs official's wife shot at in Gurgaon
Crime rate in Gurgaon is becoming a serious issue with new cases emerging taking everyday. The latest case is of a Custom official's wife, who had been shot at her residence in sector 31. The official is posted in Bihar at the rank of Joint Commissioner. Her condition is said to be stable now.

According to Gurgaon police, in the afternoon of Monday, three unknown persons with a gun forcibly barged into the house of 50 year old, Savitri Devi, wife of a Joint Commissioner in customs department in Bihar, who was alone at her sector 31 resident. They tried to snatch the jewelry from Savitri Devi, which she protested.

On reaching at home, her husband, Birju Ram Mahayach found her lying unconscious in the pool of blood. He immediately admitted her in a nearby private hospital where she was treated instantly. In her statement, she told the police that she recognized of the assailants as the son of her brother - in - law, Himanshu.

A FIR has been filed in the case and the police is trying to nab the accused.

"We don't know if anything was stolen, as the couple is yet to return home and report of any loss. Our teams are conducting raids and we hope to have the accused behind bars at the earliest," said Alok Mittal, Gurgaon Police Commissioner, as reported by TOI.
