Dadri lynching: Mathura forensic lab says meat found at Akhlaq's house was of cow or its progeny!
Months after the Dadri lynching case that created nationwide storm, a latest report by a Mathur-based forensic laboratory has established that the meat found at victim Mohammad Akhlaq's house was from a "cow or its progeny."

The 52-year old Mohammad Akhlaq was dragged out of his house on the night of September 28 and beaten to death by a mob after proclamation was made from a local temple that he had eaten and stored beef. Akhlaq's son Danish was also seriously attacked and had to undergo multiple surgeries.

While Akhlaq succumbed to his injuries, his son somehow survived. The incident enticed huge protests across the nation, with prominent writers, film-makers and scientists returning their awards. Akhlaq, was beaten by a mob of almost 100 people with bricks till he collapsed and died.

An earlier report released just after the unfortunate incident had confirmed that the meat was not beef but mutton - an animal of "goat progeny." The Uttar Pradesh government has banned the slaughter of cows but not beef.

Talking about the new report, Akhlaq's brother Chand Mohammad, as per a NDTV report, said, "Dadri Police said mutton, now you are saying it is beef. We reject this report...it is all politics. We have always believed in harmony."
