Due ego clashes with TDP Chief N Chadnrababu Naidu, he was unable to join TDP all these years and the couple joined Congress during 2004 polls. For quite some time there has been a news making round that he will leave the Congress Party. To strengthen this scuttlebutt, Daggubati has been not taking an active part in any of the party affairs. He has been also not participating in any of the Congress party programs.
On Friday, Daggubati has utilized his franchise to vote for refutation in the Rajya Sabha polls. As a reason for casting his vote for rejection, he said he didn’t like the attitude of the leaders who have resigned for the sake of united Andhra Pradesh contesting the polls once again.
He said he informed the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and also PCC Chief Botsa Satyanarayana of his decision to vote for rejection, before he actually did that. By the entire episode we can arrive at a logical conclusion that Daggubati couple will not contest on Congress party ticket in the looming 2014 elections.
Most recently, at his constituency Paruchuru there were flexi banners displayed, inviting him to join Telugu Desam Party. The banners were torn by the TDP leaders and warned the party cadre that they will oppose him joining the party.
Reportedly he said he has been in the politics for last 30 yrs and there was not much he could do further in politics. According to the political analysts, the couple has been chalking out a separate plan for their political benefit.
Meanwhile, their son is said to be close to Chandrababu Naidu's son Lokesh, who is now playing a active role in TDP. Lokesh is also making efforts to bring the couple back to TDP.
However, according to sources, they are actively considering to join BJP thinking that they would have good political prospects being the national party, which is likely to gain power in the ensuing elections.
