Dancing With The Stars Winner: Osmond causes upset
Donny Osmond caused an upset as he emerged as the winner of the Dancing with the Stars 2009 season. Osmond triumphed over over singer Mya and Kelly Osborne in the event as his tango performance proved to be too good.
Despite the fact that Lady Marmalade singer Mya was the favourite to win the title, Osmond carried the day with his skillful performance which delighted the audience. Judges on the Dancing With The Stars 2009 show said that Osmond’s tango was artistry in motion and he finished very strongly.
The judges, however, agreed that Mya was the most natural and skillful dancer but Osmond’s was the most complete performance, they also added. Donny Osmond win is due to the fact that he worked very hard to polish his skills and he never had a night off durig the entire season.
With Dancing With The Stars 2009 season over there is also growing realization that the show is losing on the entertainment factor despite the upset victory of Donny Osmond. Dancing with the stars must reinvent itself and get in new performers, who have both skills as well as personality to carry off the show, opine tv analysts.
.My wife and I have watched every season of DWTS and we are not surprised that the winner finally turned out that a low talent dancer, but big show man finally got the win. Donny Osmond's dancing talent should not have got him past 4th or more likely 5th place. We are rapidly lossing interest in this show.. mainly due to this trend of going to the showman as opposed to the dancer.
.Nothing against Donny or Kelly but one of them should have been eliminated before the finals. Seriously, even though this season didn't have two or three amazing standouts like in pasts seasons. Last year Gil and Melissa were the better dancers but got ripped off when clearly Gil should've won the title and Melissa the runner-up. This season is no different, even though Joanna and Mya weren't the standouts we're used to seeing, they clearly should've finished first and second. The judges CLEARLY have a double standard, they constantly critiqued Joanna and Mya on things that they would let slide with Kelly and Donny. The same thing happened with Gil and Melissa who were critiqued harder than Shawn, thus resulting in her getting higher scores in the end. On a further note, with Christi and Brooke the judges quickly showed who they're favorite was on both seasons and let them ride on high scores all the way to first place.
You are right on Gil and Mel...but Brooke and Christi DID deserve it. But it always was a popularity contest. My first experience with the unfairness of this show was when Mario Lopez lost to Emmit Smith...Emmit was cute & awesome for his size but he could not move like Mario...it's the judges but the audience is the ones that vote the majority and if you have a big following like Emmit did...Another note, this year was soooooo bad the way they, Len especially, constantly criticized Mya and gave her lesser scores than her counter part. At least they included the "dance off"...I think that saved Aaron Carter for a week who was also better than Donny/Kelly. I'm done...my husband is tired of me complaining about the "popularity" contest not the dance skills.
.Validated that this is nothing but a popularity contest and I am sure all of Utah was voting for that untalented man, those judges have no balls, either the voting system needs to change drastically or your going to lose alot of viewers starting with me, I will not watch DWTS again, its a Hoax, they did the same thing with Marie Osmond another untalented dancer TG that she did win or I wouldn't have stopped watching then. Donny should be a man and give up the trophy, HE KNOWS HE DIDN'T DESERVE TO WIN!
I agree with HE KNOWS HE DID'T DESERVE TO WIN. Judges should be fair to all contestants. Mya was the best dancer all season, and lost because judges thought D O was better entertainer. Judges have been harder on the better dancers for a few years. I am tired of watching a show that Outrightly shows judges favortism.
What are you blind, deaf and dumb, that man had no talent as far as dancing. BTW how are things in Utah?
.poor final show and terrible results will not watch next season if that is what you call talent
