With Skyfall, Daniel Craig has made a big stride in his career. Not only did he give an excellent performance, but he also secured the highest pay check for his next two Bond films.
DANIEL CRAIG has given layers to James Bond's character and made him human. Although many people have criticized Skyfall, but others have found the old charm back in the movie. The makers of the film also seem to agree with the later half of the crowd as Craig has been offered 31 million pounds to reprise his role as 007 in two more movies, which makes him the highest paid Bond ever.
The immense success of Skyfall, which is dark and twisted has also raised Daniel Craig
as an actor and performer, so much so that he can command such kind of salary. In 2006 'Casino Royale' saw him bag a total of 1.9 million pounds and in 2008 'Quantum of Solace' got him 4.4 million pounds. This sum improved with Skyfall itself with 10.7 million pounds in Craig's pocket. With his next two 007 deals he would be the man with the most moolah as Bond.
Craig initially was criticized for his unconventional looks and his demeanor that did not speak of previous Bonds at all. But with his quite charm and power to emote through his eyes, he has made James Bond come back to life once again after Sean Connery. Craig remains the only Bond to be compared with the best Bond, Sean Connery.
However, he has surpassed Connery in money matters. As compared to him, Connery when first employed for the role got 10,000 pounds for the first Bond film 'Dr No'. When he made an unbreakable bond with the audience his payroll rose dramatically. With 157,000 pounds for 'From Russia With Love' to 12.5 per cent of the profits made from the film in America, Connery went from strength to strength with the character but Craig would till date remain the highest paying Bond. The next releases of Bond are scheduled for 2014 and 2016.
