Daniel Schorr, legendary broadcast journalist dies at 93
Since 1985 Schorr has been a senior news analyst for National Public Radio (NPR). He started his career in print, and then moved to the broadcast in CBS. He had spent 24 years at CBS News, with a six-year stint at CNN in between.
DANIEL SCHORR, the legendary broadcast journalist, died on Friday July 23 morning at Georgetown University Hospital at the age of 93. During his over six decades of long journalistic career, he worked with CBS News and NPR and broke many major national stories.

Since 1985 Schorr has been a senior news analyst for National Public Radio (NPR). He started his career in print, and then moved to the broadcast in CBS. He had spent 24 years at CBS News, with a six-year stint at CNN in between.

Daniel Schorr reported from Moscow, Havana, Bonn, Germany, as well as many other cities in the world as a foreign correspondent.

Daniel Schorr also became a member of President Nixon's notorious "Enemies List" in the 1970s.

Daniel Schorr, during his over six decade’s career, won a Peabody award for “a lifetime of uncompromising reporting of the highest integrity,” three Emmy awards, the DuPont-Columbia Golden Baton, among others. Daniel Schorr also wrote several books, including his memoir, "Staying Tuned: A Life in Journalism."

Daniel Schorr was born in New York City to Russian-Jewish immigrant parents in 1916. He is survived by his wife, Lisbeth, his son, Jonathan Schorr, daughter, Lisa Kaplan, and one grandchild.
