Danish woman gang-raped in New Delhi; suspects detained
In yet another shameful incident in New Delhi, which is sure to hamper India's image among tourists from abroad, a 51-year old women from Denmark has been robbed and gang-raped near New Delhi Railway Station on Tuesday evening. The Danish national was said to be in India on tourist visa.

Various media reports on Wednesday said that the Danish women had gone to visit a museum and while returning back to her hotel in Paharganj she lost her way. At the same time a group of men stopped her and committed the crime.

When contacted, a spokesperson from the Danish Embassy in India said that the incident was in their knowledge and they are working on it. When asked if they have approached the Indian authorities or the victim itself, the Embassy denied to comment anything further.

 The victim after returning to her hotel narrated the entire things to her near ones, who further informed the police. The police officials have said that strict action would be taken against the culprits. So far some people from the area have been detained on the ground of suspicion and are being interrogated by the police.

Media reports also say that the victim woman had refused to undergo medical examination, and left the country this morning.
