Dark chocolates can keep you calm and stress free
Are you a chocolate lover and looking for a new excuse to eat it? Now you have a legitimate reason to indulge your liking for this sweet delight. A new study indicates that dark chocolate can help in anger management. The polyphenols in dark chocolates increase calmness and contentedness.

Polyphenols are found naturally in plants and are known as the basic components of human diet. These basically reduces the oxidative stress that is associated with many diseases. Apart from this the polyphenols also have beneficial psychological effects.

The research was done on healthy men and women who were aged 40-65 years. They were been given chocolate drink which were in three different composition, one group was given 500 mg of cocoa polyphenols, another was given 250 mg of cocoa polyphenols and the last one was given 0 mg of cocoa polyphenols.

The participants drank these chocolate drinks every day for thirty days. And on the last day, the group which drank the high dose concentration of cocoa polyphenols reported greater calmness and contentedness than those who drank either of the other drink mixes, reported Business Standards.

Apart from this there are many more health benefits of dark chocolates, but only when it is consumed in moderate amount. Some of the benefits of dark chocolates are:

Reduces heart attack

Lowers LDL cholesterol level in the body

Lowers the blood pressure

Lowers the depression, as it acts as an anti-depressent

Chocolate stimulates endorphin production and helps in keeping you happy

Acts as a stimulant

Helps in increasing the sexual desire

Contains lots of natural minerals like copper, iron, magnesium, potassium and calcium.
