David Beckham will miss the World Cup Finals, after he recieved a complete Achilles tendon tear on Sunday, in a series A clash. Though he was operated on the next day, doctors predict that the footballer won't be able to run for six months at least.
ITS SAD news for David Beckham fans! The surgeon who has operated on David Beckham has said that the former England Captain will miss the World Cup finals, after he tore his Achilles tendon on Sunday. He had been playing in a series A clash. As per doctors, the star footballer would be out of action for at least four to five months.
After Sunday's injury, David Beckham had flown to Turku, Finland in a private jet, deboarding the plane on crutches and quickly heading to Mehilainen hospital for an emergency scheduled surgery. Post the 50 minute operation, the surgeon confirmed that the top footballer had suffered from a complete tear of the Achilles tendon.
Professor Orava said, "It was a total tear. It's only a guess, but it's four months to running and a couple more months to kicking and jumping. He was quite happy after the operation."
Asked about David Beckham's future chances at the game, the surgeon said, "It's difficult to say whether he has decided to come back at the same level as before, but usually people can do what they have done before, if everything goes well."
