David Guetta's Bengaluru concert cancelled: Police say law and order not an issue
The Bangalore leg of David Guetta's highly awaited concert 'Sunburn's Guetta4Good' has been canceled. While the organizers claimed that their request was turned down due to security corners, the Bangalore police has rejected the statement.

The police authorities on the other hand have claimed that the organizers informed them just a day before the event was scheduled and that the city's police force is busy in preparing for the upcoming elections of Agricultural Produce Market Committee.

"Even if they had approached us two weeks ago, we would have managed security. However, they came to us only two days ago for permission," Bengaluru Rural SP Amit Singh said.

Rejecting Sunburn's claims, the SP said that the concert was not cancelled because of law and order problems. "They can say whatever they want. I need more than 500 personnel for the elections. It is not possible to give security to the concert. How is this connected to New Year's Eve issues?", asked Singh.

The concert was scheduled to be held on Thursday, 12 January 2017. The cancellation comes after the mass molestation incident that occurred on New Year's Eve in Bangalore.

Due to the present law and order situation in Bengaluru following the events that transpired around New Year's Eve, the authorities have recommended against holding the David Guetta concert scheduled today in the city.

"We at Sunburn tried our very best to make it happen but the authorities understandably are not prepared to take any chances. Hence today's concert unfortunately stands cancelled," Karan Singh, CEO, Sunburn, said in a statement.

SP for Bengaluru Rural clarified that there was no law & order issue. He was quoted by ANI as saying that they only wanted the organisers to change the date of the event and come up with a different date and there was no law and order issue.

Announcing his tour to Goa, Guetta has said that "India is a magical place. The energy that I get from the country and fans inspires me. Music can change lives."

Guetta is also scheduled to perform in Mumbai on 13th January, in Hyderabad on 14th and in New Delhi on 15th January.

"Other shows in Mumbai, New Delhi and Hyderabad are on as per schedule," Singh said.
